The Scoop
When slicing apples or pears to send in a school lunch, drop them in Sprite after cutting and they won’t turn brown.
Eggs will beat up fluffier if you allow them to reach room temperature before beating.
Wrap garlic or onion in plastic wrap and then aluminum foil to prevent them from smelling up your refrigerator.
When broiling meats, add one cup of water to the bottom of the pan to absorb smoke & grease…plus it makes clean-up easier!
To easily remove shells from hard-boiled eggs, rinse them quickly in cold water after boiling.
If your tomatoes aren’t quite ripe enough, place them in a brown paper bag, roll the top down to close, and leave on the counter for a couple of days.
For perfectly sliced brownies every time, use a plastic knife to cut them.
